DESCRIPTION:<p>Show off your creativity in the Jack Battler competition. We have seen many great creative images from guest speakers this year to help the creative spirit.</p>
 <p>The idea behind the competition is to have members submit creative\, rather than documentary\, images. Subject matter\, and type of media used\, is open. Each photographer may submit up to two images to the competition. </p>

DESCRIPTION:<p>Please join us Jan. 18\, when HGCC welcomes Dr. Brady Johnson.  </p>
 <p>The founder and Education Director of KW Telescope (<a href=\\"http\://www.kwtelescope.com\\" title=\\"www.kwtelescope.com\\">www.kwtelescope.com</a>)\, Dr. Brady Johnson\, served 6 years on the executive council of the KW Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (<a href=\\"http\://www.kw.rasc.ca\\" title=\\"www.kw.rasc.ca\\">www.kw.rasc.ca</a>) including three years as Vice President\, two years as President\, and one as Past President. </p>
 <p>Brady has given many talks at club meetings\, and is a regular contributor to the club's professional newsletter. He also gives talks to schools\, businesses and astronomy clubs in and around southwestern Ontario\, as well as at major star parties including Canada's largest annual star party\, Starfest.</p>
 <p>Brady will be sharing his images and techniques for capturing astronomical subjects.</p>

SUMMARY:Jan. 23 Outing @ Wings of Paradise
DESCRIPTION:<p>Our club outing to Wings of Paradise\, butterfly conservatory has been confirmed. We have access to the conservatory before the general public\, from 9 am until 10 am. During that time\, you can use a tripod. At 10 AM the conservatory opens to the general public and tripods will need to be put away\, but you can continue to photograph.</p>

SUMMARY:Feb. 1\: Members' Night (RIM Room 207) Critique Night
DESCRIPTION:<p>We have a very full evening planned for Members' Night.</p>
 <p>We will begin the evening with a quick introduction to CAPA (Canadian Association for Photographic Art) from the regional representative\, Thelma Beaubien.  Followed by live judging for the Jack Battler Creative Competition\, and then critique of images.</p>
 <p>Please bring in images (digital\, print or slides) for critique by the other members.  2 images from each photographer will be shown for critique\, and if time allows additional images will be shown.  Plan to bring up to 8 images\, and indicate which 2 images are your first choices for critique.  If you are bringing slides - please inform Tina Dorrans by Jan. 31st so arrangements to bring the equipment can be made.</p>

DESCRIPTION:<p>Please submit up to 3 images (prints\, digital\, or slide) for consideration in the club's entry for Stag and Swan.  Final selection of the 30 images from the club will be made by the members during our March 1st meeting.</p>
 <p>PRINTS\:<br />
 Prints must be no smaller than 5”X7” or larger than 16”X20”. Images must be<br />
 mounted on clean white board or foam core\, measuring 16”X20” and may be matted.<br />
 Prints may be made from film (slides or negatives) or digital files. Prints either<br />
 printed by the entrant or commercial prints are eligible. However\, all digital<br />
 manipulations must be done by the entrant. No identification is to be visible on the<br />
 front of the image or matte. Identification must be on the back of the mounted print<br />
 with the following information\:<br />
