Meeting location

HGCC meetings start at 7:30 PM in the gymnasium at Keatsway Public School, 323 Keats Way, Waterloo. Wheelchair accessible. Free Parking.

Meetings are usually held the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from September to June. Please refer to the club program for dates and details.

Program for 2016-2017

Brant Danard has put together an exciting program for 2016-2017. There will be lots of opportunity to learn, share and explore the art of photography.

HGCC Banquet meeting

I have obtained a place for the HGCC Banquet meeting. It is at Court at Laurelwood Retirement Residence, 605 Laurelwood drive, Waterloo, Ontario.

We would be very pleased to host your end of year dinner on Monday, June 5 at 6:30 pm. As discussed the details are as follows;

· Approximately 35 people in attendance.
· $22.00 per head
· Juice and salad to start.
· A choice of chicken or beef entrée
· Dessert, tea and coffee.
If you would like wine or beer with your meal you can BYOB.

We will need to confirm how many will attend and get your money to pay them.

Also, don't forget to bring your prints for the print competition. As Kevin said the voting will be a loonie placed in a cup at the print you are voting for. If you enter two prints you may vote for two prints. The print owner will receive the contents of the cup next to the print.

Next meeting, Monday, May 15, 2017

The meeting on Monday on May 15, 2017 will be the Annual General Meeting and elections of the board for the next term. We will also be discussing the Banquet on June 5, 2017. And we will be asking what you would like to see in the meetings next year. Let us know what you would like to see in next years meetings.

We will be having Paul Zago from Photo Medi Decor speak to us on what you can do with your images rather than having them sit on your computer hard drive. You could have them printed on plexi - Sleek and ultra modern, showcase your photo as if it is embedded into a glass-like surface. Or have them printed on aluminum or wood or artistic paper.

Update to Monday, May 1st meeting

The meeting is at the Keats Way School. As part of the presentation, Stephan Orlanda wants to do something at Waterloo Park. The Highland Glen Club meeting part will adjourn when the presentation ends at the school. He may invite people to join him at the Waterloo Park to do some shooting much as we would do if we were going out and asked if anyone would like to join us. So, the school part may end earlier if the gym is not available.

On another note, the following meeting after this will be the Annual General Meeting and elections for the new Board of Directors for the next term. As it stands now we are down two board members. With a smaller number of members on the board, it is difficult to get decisions made on running the club. At the last board meeting, we did not have enough for a quorum so we did not get a vote on items on the agenda. I will bring them up before the presentation on Monday evening. We do need nominations for Directors at Large and for Vice President. Without a board of directors, we do not have a camera club.
