Feb 6 Members Night Workshop

2017-02-08 09:02

Thanks to all who participated in the Feb 6 workshop night. I have posted a couple of water drop photos to the HGCC group on flickr.
I am looking for some feed back..... As you know, there is another workshop night coming up on March 6. Would you like if I bring in the same setup, the water drop setup, or try to come up with something different.
Some feed back that I did get last Monday night, was that the setup could only really accommodate 1 camera in the prime location. The rest of the cameras had to deal with a non ideal background... I did try to limit the time that individual had in the prime spot, I hope that I was successful in doing this and that everybody got something that they liked.
I have a couple of ideas that I hope will make the group experience better.
I would love to bring in the bursting water balloon set up, but it will likely be to sloppy. Maybe later in the year when we can go outside.

So my question is. More water drops or something else?

Hi all

Images are filtering in; thanks to those who have already sent them to me. Those of you with great intentions but nothing sent yet - it's time to light that fire! I remember seeing some great images in the in-house and GVIB competitions.

Recap:
The 2017 Stag & Swan (a friendly competition between us and the Stratford club) will be held in Stratford this year on Tuesday March 7 and we need your best images so we can keep the trophy in Waterloo where it rightfully belongs! Yes this is earlier than previous years.

- Up to three (3) images per person
- Images can be of any topic (ie, open category)
- Must be a jpg file.
- Must be a maximum size of 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high. This means that a typical horizontal image would be 1024 px wide and 768 px high while a typical vertical image would be max. 768 px wide by 768 px high.
- Images must be submitted in their proper orientation and will be shown as submitted.

- Please title the images rather than using the file number given it by the camera. (normally image titles are not read out during the competition but if they do a judges attention was drawn to something he or she might not have otherwise noticed in the image!)
- Filenames can be the title of the image, one to three words, so that a hawk attacking a grackle might be Hawk_and_Grackle.jpg or simply Lunch.jpg
